First attempt at a Bemba poem:

Kasuba (Sun) : Said as if calling a person.

Kasuba kandi, waya kwi
(Sun, My Sun, where art thou)

Nafyaya, Nafyaya
(I seek, I search)

Nasakamana, amatontokanyo
(My heart yearns, my soul wanders)

Walubila pachani? Ututubukafye kumwenshi
(Are you hidding in the grass, your only resurrection is in the moon)

lonsye nganamona umutanda
(Every night I see the stars)

tontokanyefye uku bengeshima kobe
(Thoughs of your sights, of your light. Shine!)

Kasuba, Kasuba Sanika
(Sun, My Sun, Shine, Shimmer)

lekka ngufwe uku kaba kobe
(Let my skin feel your warm)
